Die Schötmarsche Straße ist eine typische dörfliche Wohn- und Geschäftstraße. Bis zum Bau der Ortsumgehung war sie Teil der Verkehrsachse Oerlinghausen - Schötmar. | |||

Nach der Ortsgründung 1851 wurden Geschäfte, Handelsbetriebe und Gewerbebetriebe z.T mit Wohnraum für die Inhaber errichtet. An der Schötmarschen Straße befand sich die Schule von Leopoldshöhe. Ende der 1950er Jahre wurde eine Tankstelle in Betrieb genommen. | |||
